Thai hot and sour soup
Our Hot and Sour Soup is prepared in the style of north-east Thailand. It reminds me of my mothers kitchen when I was young when visitors came and the big feast began. Back then my mum would lightly scorch all the spices to give more aromatic and the smells would waft thought the house. There are a few versions of this soup depending on your taste. Please check the main meat or vegetable section below. Here are the instructions on how to cook this soup from one of our soup packs.
Extra ingredients
- 1 medium onion cut into quarters
- 1 medium tomato cut into quarters
Main meat or vegetable
- 200g Chicken breast cut into strips or
- 200g Prawn or mixed seafood or
- 200g Mushrooms cut into quarters
Cooking Instructions


Step 1 Pour all the contents of the pack into a pan, add 1½ pints of water and the extra ingredients cook for at least 10 minutes at a medium heat.

Step 2 Bring it to the boil add the meat or vegetable of your choice keep it boiling for 5 minutes or till the meat is cooked.

Step 3 Sprinkle on a few chopped coriander leaves and your ready to serve.
Serving suggestions
- Add more chillies in step 1 if you have a hot tongue.
- Eat as a starter or main course with rice and another curry or stir fry.
